SC orders Comelec to secure poll materials for Marcos case

THE Supreme Court (SC) granted on Tuesday the appeal of losing Vice Presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. after it issued Precautionary Protection Order (PPO) in order to “preserve the integrity and safety” of all the ballots and election returns used during the May 9 elections.

The SC, acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), required the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to preserve and safeguard the integrity of all the ballot boxes and their contents, the list of voters or the Election day computerized Voter’s List (EDVCL), Voters Registration Records (VRR), the book of voters and all the other documents and paraphernalia used in the recently concluded polls.
